Internship programs from major corporations
Links to the job openings for students and new graduates
You know that internships are a crucial part of your post-secondary education, but where exactly can you find them?
If you attend a university or college that helps students to find internships, then this is an easier task. Your school may have a program specifically to help you in this search. Canadian universities call this co-operative education (or “co-op”), and some employers hire only co-op students.
What if your post-secondary institution does NOT offer such assistance? You must search for these internships by yourself. I encourage you to start by searching the “Careers” webpages of major corporations; they often have special programs for hiring students and new graduates. If you get an internship there and perform well, your chance of getting a return offer is higher, because big companies have more job opportunities. Even if your specific department does not have a permanent job for you, another team may have an opening that suits you.
